About A Smile Of A Child

Sam Hershberg is Founder & Chief Executive Officer of A Smile of a Child Foundation, an organization that assists widows and orphans in need within the Jewish community.  ​Through their inspirational services, A Smile of a Child serves many of these needy families, institutions, and individuals by providing them with basic life necessities such as food, clothing, and emergency relief while preserving the value of their culture and traditions.
     
Sam founded the organization based on his longing to give back to the community as well as to connect with those in need.  Sam’s father, whom he lost at age 19, was the drive behind starting the organization. Rabbi Abraham Mordechai who was born in Poland without a father and later orphaned after losing his entire family during War World II. He came to Sam in a dream one night where he was dancing with many children around him and asked Sam to join him. When he awoke from his dream, it was then that Sam knew his purpose in life would be to help orphaned children in some way.
      On one of his many trips to Israel, Sam took a very good friend of the family, Mr. Isaac Gilinski with him.  While there, Sam assisted in funding an orphaned child’s Bar Mitzvah and met with the child and his family to further expand the connection of his charitable contribution to the cause.

​Since the creation of the Foundation, the organization has gained the support of additional countries and the number keeps growing. Sam’s vision is for A Smile of a Child Foundation to become a global network of supporting the mission of helping orphans and widows in need.
 
Aside from A Smile of a Child Foundation, Sam works in the fintech/cyber sector. His business requires him to frequently travel the globe, allowing him the opportunity to spread the word about A Smile of a Child and link his various private and professional networks to his cause.
