​Educational Services
Education is vital for the growing child. Due to family financial restraints, orphans often do not receive the best education in order to expand their full potential, which can bring feelings of discouragement and isolation. Many lack access to technology and the use of a computer at home making it quite difficult to do homework, research, and gain better knowledge of the world around them.
 
A Smile of Child's goal is to purchase computers for widows and orphans and hire instructors to teach them how to use it and its applications. Additionally, great emphasis is put forth to ensure their education will provide them with the opportunity and knowledge of reaching their full academic potential.

Widows and Orphans
A Smile of a Child’s purpose is to address the needs of the many widows and orphans living in Israel. Aside from providing relief of basic life necessities such as food and clothing, we strive to provide them with other essential programs that offer enrichment and opportunities for a better future.  These programs include: tutoring, Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebrations, and weddings.  We believe this holistic approach will relieve the stresses of meeting life’s basic needs and offer a brighter hope in their lives.

​Bar & Bat Mitzvah
Each quarter, A Smile of a Child sponsors group Bar/Bat Mitzvah for the families and children who have lost a father or mother. The Bar Mitzvah boy receives a suit and a new pair of Tefillin and the Bat Mitzvah girl receives a pair beautiful earrings, silver candlesticks, and a voucher for the purchase of a new dress.
 
Following the ceremonies, that include the presence of rabbinic and civic leaders, families and friends will partake in festivities that entail a full-course meal, live music, and dancing. Professional photographers are present to capture and preserve these long-lasting memories in which soon after the child will receive a picture album as a beautiful memento.
